I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, practicing under the supervision of Michelle Burkott, LPC-S, in the State of Texas. I am also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, practicing under the supervision of Javen Taafe, in the State of Washington.
With over 30 years of experience in higher education and mental health, I bring a unique blend of academic insight and compassionate care to my counseling practice. After earning a Ph.D. in History from the University of California, San Diego, I spent much of my early career in academia, where I found joy in mentoring students and supporting them through both academic and personal challenges. This experience deepened my understanding of life’s struggles and the power of compassionate support.
Motivated by the positive impact I had in helping students overcome their challenges, I decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Education with a focus on Clinical Mental Health Counseling. This transition enabled me to provide more direct support, offering knowledge, valuable insight, and compassionate care as a therapist.
